You can use it for off grid communication using free HAM RF band of your country to send text messages between nodes. It is for free cause it uses nodes in mesh like this one. Creating eff grig mesh for encripted comunications independent from celular network or internet. Downside is you need good amount of nodes not too far from each other to create mesh for coverage. If you live apart from people there will be no network no mesh no nodes to comunicate - relay sessages. Ps: every node acts as a reapeter to push coverage.
